Raise your hand if you have pets! Did you know that your dogs are more than welcome to your family portrait session? Yep, that's right, they are apart of the family and should be included. I will travel to your home, we can capture memories in selected studios and outdoor locations are always fun. I'll be sharing some tips today that will be beneficial in creating a beautiful session with your pet.
First thing's first: Your Style and Concept Consultation
Before we schedule a session we will consult over zoom or over the phone to get to know you better before we meet in person. The purpose of this conversation we are going to have will tell me what your vision is for your portrait session, we will discuss things like date, time, location, clothing, your pet, his or her personality and artwork you are interested in ( prints, wall art, albums). Once our consultation is complete will be all set to meet and I will get ready to photograph your beautiful family.
Tips
- On the day of the session make sure your pet is familiar with the location. I am available to travel to your home, photograph in select studios where pets are allowed and outdoor locations such as residential areas and parks.
- Assuming your pet will be a ball of energy please be sure to take them to the location thirty minutes to one hour before your session for some exercise, this will allow for a relaxed pet and will more and likely cooperate for your portrait session.
- Bring treats and water. Your pet may need some persuading to stay still or just remain a good pet, treats will keep them focused on receiving their reward for good behavior.
- Lastly, coordinate clothing with your pet as well! These portraits will make their way in your home as part of your décor so dress to impress. Always remember, have fun! Authenticity, personality and emotion will shine!
